out with the old...

In the first few days of the New Year -- the home stretch of Christmas Break -- we visited SAM and the kiddos built a house.

And on the final day (hallelujah) of Christmas Break, I put away Christmas decorations, packed lunches, swept up pine needles... and just minutes after I pitched the last of the holiday sweets, our neighbors arrived with a plate full of cookies (smile).

Linda and Steve stayed for our second-annual New Year's bonfire...

  

Our tree lighting was over as quickly as it began, so with that, we hugged, high-fived, and once and for all, we bid what was adieu.

a new year

We rang in 2013 in Olympia over playing cards and wine (grown ups), a performance then the pool then some popcorn (kiddos) with a side of smashed peas, carrots and chicken before bed (Casen). 

The trip was rich and crazy sweet.
