John and Katy, our dear friends from California, spent the weekend with us.Eight years ago, through a random set of circumstances, KTB and I became colleagues, then friends. Since then, our lives have run parallel in many ways - in spite of the distance between us. We have been kindred spirits since the beginning. She has always been precious to me - even more so after this weekend.
